These rectangular Pot Magnets contain a super strong Neodymium blockmagnet, encased in a U-shaped steel channel. The steel channel not only protects the magnet from damage but also focuses the magnetic field to the uncapped countersunk face. The power of the magnet is delivered through this one side of the pot magnet, and when this power side is in surface contact with a steel target, it has an extremely powerful holding force.
The 3mm thickness of the washers is designed to accommodate a flat-head screw, so it does not sit proud and interfere with the required flat connection to the magnets surface.
The 3mm thickness of the washer will also ensure that the magnet can achieve its full magnetic force, compared to using a standard thin washer.
